Topramezone is a modern HPPD (4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) inhibitor herbicide widely used in post-emergent weed management for corn, sorghum, sugarcane and other labeled crops. With excellent selectivity and rapid activity, it provides superior control of both annual broadleaf weeds and grasses, making it highly effective in fields infested with resistant weeds. As a systemic, foliar-absorbed herbicide, Topramezone moves quickly throughout the plant tissues. Susceptible weeds begin to show bleaching (whitening) within a few days after treatment due to carotenoid depletion, followed by complete death within 7–14 days. Corn and sorghum exhibit strong tolerance due to rapid metabolism of the active ingredient.

HPPD inhibitor (Group 27 herbicide) with a unique mode of action
Highly effective post-emergent control of broadleaf and grassy weeds
Excellent performance against glyphosate-, ALS-, ACCase- and PPO-resistant weeds
Fast bleaching effect; visible results within 3–5 days
Outstanding crop safety in corn and sorghum
Low application rate, reducing environmental load
Compatible with common tank-mix partners (Atrazine, Nicosulfuron, Mesotrione, Tembotrione, etc.)
Stable SC formulation with strong leaf penetration
Widely used in modern corn production systems worldwide
Topramezone inhibits the 4-HPPD enzyme, interrupting carotenoid biosynthesis. Without carotenoids, chlorophyll becomes photo-oxidized, causing:
Whitening / bleaching
Growth inhibition
Tissue necrosis and plant death
This mechanism makes it particularly effective for herbicide resistance management.
